MP for Finchley and Golders Greens, Mike Freer, dropped into Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event in Parliament today. This year’s event is focussing on the issues people with cancer face following their treatment and what can be done to improve the quality of their lives.
Speaking after the event, Mike said "A lot of focus, rightly, goes on detecting and fighting cancer, but issues can still remain - even after the treatment ends. It was good to speak with MacMillan professionals over a coffee and hear about the support they provide.
"MacMillan do great work it is always a pleasure to be able to support their events."
According to MacMillan figures, one in four people living with cancer face poor health or disability after treatment for cancer - roughly 625,000 people across the UK.
