Mike Freer MP, is pleased to sponsor the Babyn Yar Holocaust Memorial Center (BYHMC) travelling exhibition taking place in the Upper Waiting Hall in the Houses of Parliament this week. The exhibition, which coincides with International Holocaust Day on 27th January, commemorates the massacre of Babi Yar in Kiev in 1941.
On opening the exhibition and supported by many distinguished guests including Ambassadors for Ukranian and Israel, together with the Rt Hon Lord Pickles, Special Envoy for Post Holocaust Issues, Mike said, “These atrocities are close to my heart, as I fear that had I been alive during this time, my life would not have been spared. With fewer and fewer survivors left alive to give their testimony, it is more important than ever to educate the next generation about the horrors of the Holocaust.”
