MP, Mike Freer, called on the Leader of the House of Commons to arrange for a debate on regulating Binary Options trading yesterday.
At the Business Statement, Mr Freer raised the case of his constituent who had been battling with StratX for not returning his investment to him.
The North London MP emphasised that the nature of Binary Options trading means (at present) neither the Gambling Commission nor the Financial Conduct Authority hold responsibility for policing the market.
Despite calls and letters from the MP the company ignored them, underlining suspicions that they did not wish to disclose the true nature of their business.
Mr Freer has written to the Government and will continue to pressure Ministers to take action on the shortcomings of the current regulatory mechanisms in place.
