Mike Freer has lead a delegation of Barnet’s senior figures to the House of Commons to discuss local security concerns. The Borough’s Rabbis and MPs were joined by the Community Security Trust (CST) and the Police Borough Commander, who outlined plans to ensure that the Jewish Community remain safe.
Mike comments “All too often I receive correspondence from Jewish constituents who tell me they no longer feel safe in Britain. It is absolutely vital that local Police, MPs and others continue to work closely together to ensure that the sort of attacks seen elsewhere are not replicated on our streets.
Local police officers are doing everything they can to protect the Community. I will continue to work with the Prime Minister and Home Secretary to make local voices heard at the highest levels of Government.”
The meeting was attended by MPs Mike Freer and Matthew Offord, local Rabbis, Borough Commander Adrian Usher, Norwood, the CST and Jewish school headteachers.
