Earlier this week, the Government launched ‘Stop! Think Fraud’, our national campaign against fraud. This is a large-scale public awareness campaign that will be running across the United Kingdom.
Fraud is the single largest crime, accounting for almost 40% of all offences in England and Wales, with the devastating impact felt across the UK. That is why in May last year we published the Fraud Strategy, setting out an ambitious plan to tackle this crime that causes so much harm to the public.
The launch of the ‘Stop! Think Fraud’ campaign – a Fraud Strategy commitment – will give everyone the knowledge and tools to stay ahead of scams, offering an extra layer of protection to the millions affected, and helping to drive down fraud even further.
